Devlog 06: Adding to the arsenal


Introduction

Hey everybody, we're back in town with some new developments.

Lets once again start off with the..

Art!

Our weapon arsenal has grown :0

We now have a new Shotgun and a Lever Action Rifle bringing the gun total to 3 🎉

Check out all our guns (now with proper textures )




The arena also got a small overhaul:

We replaced many meshes on the map to be prefabs instead of .fbx imports.

This allowed us to use our newest meshes and simplify our collision meshes:


We also have a bunch of new meshes for our soon to be added Saloon:

Some of these can be found in the arena already!

Lets see what the devs have done this week..

Development

Our modeled guns are able to be used !

They are still in an early state, but they already boast some different stats!


Who gets what weapon is dictated by the hat they are wearing

Speed and health are also influenced by the hat type

Right now hats are assigned per player number

- P1 -> Red Hat (Shotgun but slow movement)

- P2 -> Orange Hat (Lever action, but less health)

- P3 -> Green Hat (Revolver, normal health, normal speed)

- P4 -> Yellow Hat (Revolver, small health pool but increased speed)

Later down the development path, the players will select their hat before loading into the map

Talking about hats, you now stack them when killing the player on your contract!


There's no limit to the stack...


The hats symbolize the characters weight

When you are killed, your hat stack is removed


We know we promised to have a working HUD by this week, but internal complications made it so we have to delay it once more.
